Meet Jacob

"Quite often I find the injury in question is not what causes us the most distress, it is the implication of the injury on our lives. I find great reward in using manual techniques, alongside lifestyle advice to help my patients manage their symptoms, recover swiftly and get back to doing what they love as quickly as possible."

Experiencing a lower back injury and the associated difficulties of not being at my full physical health, my journey towards becoming a therapist was ignited. At the time, I was working at a top financial consultancy and was feeling the weight of long hours sitting behind a computer screen.

A local Osteopath and a certified Soft Tissue Therapist were both instrumental in my recovery. The hands-on treatment that I received and the knowledge that I gained from these practitioners was invaluable, and ultimately inspired me to re-train as a remedial massage therapist.

Since retraining as a Level 5 Soft Tissue Therapist, I haven’t looked back. Motivated to constantly develop my offering to my patients, I followed my diploma with a certification in Medical Acupuncture & Dry needling. My work goes beyond my hands on approach to therapy as I understand that small lifestyle changes can also have a great impact on our overall health, wellness and healing capacity.

I have helped many clients with pain and injury, including acute sporting injuries and persistent lower back pains. In addition, I’ve supported people with the management of chronic conditions such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Stroke. A lot of the time, the condition or injury is not what causes us the most distress, but the implication these have on our lives. I find great reward in helping my clients recover swiftly, find balance and move towards optimal health.

Being a health and wellness enthusiast, I’m fascinated by the real impact that simple lifestyle habits can have on improving complex physiological systems in our bodies. Furthermore, how these can benefit our health and the way that we feel. Early morning sunshine, cold-water therapy and 20-second hugs being some of my personal favourites! When I’m not working I’m usually out taking a brisk walk in nature, socialising with friends, training in the gym, or reading.

I’m excited to be able to bring what I have learned to Meadowside’s valued patients, and to continue to develop my expertise within the team.
