My journey into healthcare has been a unique path—perhaps not as conventional as some might expect.
My background really began in hospitality, shaped by my Italian roots and my family’s Ligurian-inspired restaurant, Olivo Ristorante Italiano, in Guildford. For over two decades, my family brought Italy’s warmth and flavours to Surrey’s community, instilling in me the importance of welcoming people into a space where they feel valued and cared for. After we sold our family business, I explored other avenues, including managing ski chalets in Courchevel, and travelled extensively.
My love for travel started with an interrailing adventure across Europe, where I explored new cultures and gained a deep appreciation for different ways of life. My experiences in hospitality and travel now influence my work at Meadowside, where I’m dedicated to making each patient feel at home.
A love for the mountains has stayed with me. Italy’s mountains, where I often ski with my dad and little sister, are among the most beautiful I’ve seen. I’ve had the privilege of skiing in La Thuile on the Italian-French border, an area known for its challenging slopes. However, in 2017, I suffered a back injury that made me appreciate the importance of physical health and recovery in a whole new way. This experience deepened my respect for holistic well-being and fuels my passion for helping others feel their best.
My journey into yoga began at the University of Bath Spa, where I studied media, film, and business. I have a lifelong love for capturing moments in photography and film, which was inspired by my Italian grandfather, who documented family life through countless photos. This passion for storytelling through visuals led me to pursue a degree in film and cinematography, where I could channel my appreciation for meaningful moments into my life. While at Bath, I also volunteered as the Events and Social Media Coordinator for the Yoga Society, where I discovered that calming the mind is as essential as keeping fit in our physical form. My love for yoga led me to complete teacher training in Spain, where I became certified in Vinyasa, Hatha, and Yin styles. These days, I practise yoga more for myself, but I’d love to return to teaching one day, sharing my passion for both the science and spirituality behind what we call yoga.
At Meadowside, I take care of everything from speaking with patients, managing bookings to organising events and helping our Practice Director, Orit, in overseeing the clinic’s operations. In nearly two years here, I’ve grown close to our patients—many feel like long-lost friends. I’m always here to offer a warm cup of tea and a listening ear. I’m passionate about supporting our patients in feeling their best.
Inspired by Meadowside, I hope one day to create my own sanctuary, combining yoga and hospitality to create a safe haven for wellness and community, maybe go back to my roots in Italy.
