Introducing Laser Therapy – cutting edge technology for the treatment of musculoskeletal (MSK) pain and inflammation.
Our Class 4 MLS Laser Therapy machine can help with acute and chronic back pain, neck pain, tendinopathies such as Tennis Elbow, Golfers Elbow, Plantar Fasciitis and Gluteal Tendinopathy, and neurological pain.
MSK Laser Therapy is a painless, non-invasive and highly effective treatment.
At Meadowside, our team of highly qualified experts are committed to delivering exceptional care to those who suffer with MSK pain or injury.
Our decision to integrate MLS Laser Therapy stems from thorough research into its safety profiles, and efficacy at treating MSK conditions.
Having observed transformative outcomes for numerous patients, we have chosen to invest in this advanced treatment modality in order to provide our patients with the best level of care possible.
Class 4 laser therapy is also known as High-Level Laser Therapy or HLLT.
The MLS (Multi-wave Locked System) laser harnesses the power of two specific wavelengths of light, to activate changes and promote the natural healing processes within the cells of the body.
The machine emits a pulsed light with a wavelength of 905 nm for pain relief, and a pulsed or constant light with a wavelength of 808 nm, which has been shown as effective in reducing inflammation and promoting tissue repair.
Because the higher wavelength is locked at a pulsed pattern, there is never a situation where tissues are overheated by the light.
Your journey begins with a consultation and thorough assessment by our experienced osteopaths, who will then discuss their findings with you, and create a treatment plan tailored to your needs.
If laser therapy is recommended, laser therapy sessions involve a three-stage process: scanning, treatment, and trigger point release. All laser treatment stages are painless and heat-free.
If you have any questions we haven’t answered here, or if you would like to discuss your case with one of our osteopaths, you can book a FREE 15-minute call with an osteopath HERE, or give us a call on 01252 449 435 – we would love to help.
Please note: an Initial ‘Osteopathy – First Appointment’ is required prior to booking Laser Therapy appointments.
Not at all. There is little to no sensation during the treatment and no pain. Most people find it relaxing, and some even fall asleep.
Results vary based on diagnosis and severity, with most individuals experiencing positive outcomes within 48-72 hours, after 3 treatments. A complete course of treatment, averaging 6-8 sessions, ensures cumulative and lasting improvement.
Typically, laser sessions last between 20-30 minutes. For laser only treatment, once your Osteopath has assessed you and prescribed it, we schedule a 30-minute appointment slot. We also have a 45-minute appointment, for a combination of osteopathic treatment and laser therapy.
Most people feel a difference, often a reduction in pain or swelling, within 1-3 sessions. For chronic conditions, this number may sit closer to 6 sessions.
We expect a gradual reduction in pain from week to week and track this.
If we reach 3 sessions and you do not notice any difference, we will re-evaluate what could be posing a barrier to you experiencing the results we expect, and consider whether further investigation, further treatment or a different approach are required.
As the laser has no heating action, it can be safely used around implants and metal. In fact, many patients come to see us for help with their post-operative healing, including in cases where implants were inserted.
Certain existing conditions or circumstances may render laser therapy unsafe for your treatment.
All contra-indications will be detailed in the information sheet given to you prior to treatment, and thoroughly discussed before the treatment begins, to ensure safe practice.
Absolutely! You can design a treatment plan with your Osteopath that includes a combination of Osteopathy, Laser therapy, and Massage!

I have visited many osteopaths over the years and Meadowside are by far the most professional and well organised. All my appointments were on time and i received text and email reminders. Great and friendly team Myf Plunkett2025-03-14Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’ve seen Ashley 3 times over the past 2 months for a chronic neck injury. I’d not been to an Osteo before but definitely have benefited from the visits. Ashley is great and I recommend him. Also they don’t sign you up for lots of sessions and instead leave it to your discretion to book when you feel you need to come again. The sports massages are fantastic, and have become a regular treat to help maintain my fitness. Orit is the only therapist I have ever seen who has managed to get rid of my issues with my piriformus and hip flexors so that I can run again. And Emily - through her laser therapy on my foot has helped me get on top of plantar fasciitis. Everyone I’ve seen has been welcoming and friendly. I would definitely recommend anyone visit Meadowside to get treatment for long standing aches and pains or just for some TLC. Michele Fearn2025-03-09Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have recently completed a series of shockwave sessions at Meadowside Ostepathy, and I would like to thank James and the whole team for providing this treatment. The whole process was so easy and very well explained. And I was fully supported throughout the sessions. After having intractable plantar fasciitis for many years which has been resistant to treatment I am already seeing a difference after three sessions which is amazing. I would highly recommend shockwave as a treatment, and at Meadowside you are always treated professionally and with compassion and dedication. Patrick Weller2025-03-08Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My experience with Meadowside has been excellent from reception thru to treatment. I was treated for a damaged lumber disc caused by lifting, which significantly incapacitated me for a few months. The treatment by James Symons was careful, well considered and professional. I had full confidence in the recovery process. I continue to have maintenance treatments to keep my back mobile. Also, the team on reception were always welcoming, helpful and efficient.
